The official launch of the 2007 Galway Bay 10 took place today at the Galway Bay Hotel and was well attended by many of the event’s sponsors and supporters. The Galway Bay 10 will take place on 6th October at 2pm. Bernard Duffy, chairperson of the Galway Bay 10 organising committee encouraged people all over the west and beyond to ‘go the extra mile for Cancer Care West’. Following the spectacular success of last year’s event, the 2007 race looks set to be bigger than ever. Ambitious targets have been set and the goal is to raise €300,000 and attract 1,000 entrants to this year’s race. This goal certainly seems well within reach with the support of local media sponsor galwaynews.ie, which is backed by Connacht Tribune and Galway Bay Fm. The event has also attracted the sponsorship of Arrabawn co-op for the first time.
